Healthy You Challenge

I'm excited to have signed up for Scale Junkie's Healthy You Challenge. I hope it will increase accountability and encourage me to keep blogging.

I have also signed up for SparkPeople - not sure how much of its functionality I'll use day-to-day, as I'm already using Food Focus to track my food, but I'm enjoying exploring the huge mine of resources. (And scavenging for SparkPoints!)

  1. Welcome to the HYC. And congrats on your weight loss!

I've never tried SparkPeople or Food Focus. My sister and I have be logging with Fit Day. FF looks very similar to Fit Day.

  2. Hi. Welcome to HYC.
I've not heard of your eating plan before so will be interested in seeing how you go.

May I make one request of you. Please do the mental work and learn how to handle stress, and be determined to keep your weight where you want it for the rest of your life. If I had learned about the dangers of yo yo dieting and insulin resistance I would not be struggling 50 years later and xxxxx kg heavier. Do the work and the learning while young and energetic and you can be slim for the rest of your life.

Keep posting often. I'll keep in touchif you like.

  3. Thanks both!

Lost&Found: I use FoodFocus because it's got a huge quantity of UK foods in its database - there are prettier sites out there but a lot of them are very US-focused. Also it's free which helps!

MargieAnne: I totally get what you're saying. Getting myself in the right place mentally continues to be a struggle, but the big difference this time is that I know it's crucial. In fact, I might go write a post about mental focus...
